Safety at EFoil Paris
At Foil in Paris, safety is our top priority.
All our activities are strictly supervised, monitored, and reserved for registered and properly trained club members. Each session is designed to offer a smooth, safe experience that complies with current regulations on the Seine.
Before each depature, a mandatory safety meeting is held. This essential moment serves to review instructions, navigation zones, emergency procedures, and right-of-way rules on the water. Wearing a helemt and life vest is strictly mandatory for all participants without exception.
To take our commitment even further, we’ve developed an innovative ship detection API for the Seine (TrackShip). This technology enables real-time identification of boats in the activity zone. In case of risk, the API immediately sends alerts to instructors and users already on the water, while also notifying the nearby vessels of the presence of riders in their vicinity.
Thanks to this connected solution, we significantly strengthen incident prevention and responsiveness on the water.
At Foil in Paris, the practice of eFoil and other water activities is strictly supervised to ensure the safety of all participants and the smooth operation of the club. Access to activities is subject to the following conditions:
- Reserved for club members
Participation is exclusively open to members with an active subscription. Three options are available: daily, monthly, or yearly, depending on your frequency of practice and your needs. - Mandatory registration form
Each participant must complete a registration form with their full contact details: first name, last name, email, and phone number. This step is essential to ensure proper administrative and safety follow-up. - Signing a waiver of liability
All members acknowledge being
informed of the risks associated with the activity, having reviewed the authorized navigation zones and safety instructions. Signing this waiver is mandatory before any activity. - Mandatory safety briefing
Before each first session, every member must attend a safety briefing, covering the specific rules of the practiced discipline, expected behaviors on the water, and emergency procedures.
Wearing a helmet and life jacket is mandatory for all participants, without exception.

Our TrackShip System
Our API was developed to meet the surveillance and safety needs of navigation zones on French rivers, especially in contexts of sports practice and water leisure activities like eFoil. It allows real-time detection of vessels near a defined area and triggers appropriate alerts to warn users and instructors on site.
Vessel detection around a GPS point: The API continuously monitors a defined perimeter around a geographic point to identify the presence of ships or boats nearby.
Risk zone prevention: When a vessel enters the monitored area, the API can trigger:
- A light signal to alert instructors or operators on the ground.
-A sound signal to warn participants (for example, eFoil users) of an imminent danger or a change in navigation conditions.
Integration of official data: Our API is connected to the hydrographic database provided by Voies Navigables de France (VNF), ensuring accurate and reliable coverage of rivers, canals, and waterways.
Securing an eFoil zone on the Seine: The API is used to prevent dangerous crossings between river transport vessels and water sports participants. It provides rapid, localized alerts, enabling immediate reactions from supervisors or users.
Is the Seine swimmable?
Yes, and it’s now a reality. Thanks to years of efforts led by the City of Paris, Voies Navigables de France (VNF), and water agencies, the water quality of the Seine has significantly improved. The river is becoming a natural, accessible, controlled, and safe space again for water activities and swimming.
1.4 B
This is the amount invested in infrastructure to sustainably clean the Seine, notably as part of the 2024 Olympic Games preparations.
4
This is the number of daily water quality checks. To ensure safe swimming, the water is analyzed several times a day during the season.
50
This is the number of personnel deployed each day in summer. Surveillance, cleaning, sampling, and security teams are mobilized daily to ensure the proper operation of swimming areas, maintain clean water, and respond quickly when needed.
